I’m proud to say that I worked on one of the most iconic advertising campaigns ever created - Marlboro Country. First, as one of the select few directing the shoots and then as the photographer as well, my charge was to turn normal cowboy activities into breathtaking art and create the myth of the Marlboro man and that special place called Marlboro Country.
The following cowboy imagery was shot by either myself or some of the great Marlboro photographers and film directors I had the pleasure of working with and learning from - like William Thompson, Tony Scott, Brian Lanker and Hannes Schmid to name a few.
I gained an appreciation for the simple, yet striking horizons of the American West. I look forward, every so often, to getting lost out west to document the unexpected visual experiences that magically appear, due to weather, unique location or pure luck.
